The following rules and regulations govern the operation and maintenance of the columbarium at Oak Hill Cemetery:
(a) A maximum of two urns is permitted per niche.
(b) Urns shall be appropriately sized to allow interment in the niche.
(c) Only human remains are permitted to be interred in the columbarium.
(d) Each niche will have a faceplate that covers the opening of the niche. The niche faceplate shall contain the identity of the cremains.
(e) No engravings other than names and dates will be allowed on the niche plate. Nicknames may be used as space allows. Engraving will be done by Village contractor only. Emblems will be permitted on niche plates according to the approved schedule of emblems provided by the Village and as space allows; provided no niche plate may contain more than two (2) emblems total. Military and first responder (Law Enforcement, Fire, EMS) emblems will be provided at no cost by the Village. The cost for replacement niche plates, additional engraving due to ownership transfers, or any other emblems shall be according to current rates provided by the Village contractor performing the engraving and shall be paid directly to said contractor. Wreaths, flowers, planters, etc. may be placed on the columbarium base during and immediately following a service for a period of seven (7) days. Following the seven (7) day period, the Village may remove and dispose of any items left. Nothing may be placed on, attached to, or otherwise affixed to any part of the columbarium or base other than as provided for in these regulations.
(f) Disinterment shall be subject to ORC 517.23 and 517.24 and any successor statutory procedure promulgated in Ohio law.
