The planning commission shall consist of nine (9) members, citizens of the village, appointed by the president of the board of trustees, on the basis of their particular fitness for their duty on said planning commission and subject to the approval of the village board of trustees. The planning commission may consist of more than nine (9) members, but the membership on said commission shall always be an odd rather than an even number. (1983 Code § 2-4-3)
