7-6-2: EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS:
   A.   Lights And Reflectors: Every bicycle, when in use at nighttime, shall be equipped with a light on the front which shall emit a white light visible from a distance of at least five hundred feet (500') to the front and with a red reflector on the rear of a type approved by the state department of transportation which shall be visible from all distances from one hundred feet (100') to six hundred feet (600') to the rear when directly in front of lawful lower beams of headlamps on a motor vehicle. A lamp emitting a red light visible from a distance of five hundred feet (500') to the rear may be used in lieu of the red reflector. (1983 Code § 9-8-2; amd. 2011 Code)
   B.   Use Of Siren: A bicycle shall not be equipped with nor shall any person use upon a bicycle any siren; provided, however, this does not apply to a bicycle that is a police or fire department vehicle. (1983 Code § 9-8-3; amd. 2011 Code)
   C.   Brake: Every bicycle shall be equipped with a brake which will adequately control movement of and stop and hold such bicycle. (1983 Code § 9-8-4; amd. 2011 Code)
   D.   Penalty: Any person, firm or corporation violating any provision of this section shall be fined not more than seven hundred fifty dollars ($750.00) for each offense, and a separate offense shall be deemed committed on each day during or on which a violation occurs or continues.
