§ 1406.02 DEMOLITION PERMITS.
   (a)   Before demolishing a building, no owner or agent of an owner shall fail to obtain a demolition permit. The fee for such permit shall be based on the estimated cost of the demolition (1406.01(e)) except that a minimum of $115.00 shall be charged for each building demolished that requires an inspection of the disconnection from city water or sewer services or the demolition of septic systems or wells.
   (b)   In addition to the fees paid under division (a) hereof for a demolition permit, no person performing the demolition shall fail to obtain public liability insurance in the minimum amount of one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000.00), insuring against liability for damage to persons or property arising out of any act of the insured or any agent or employee of the insured. However, in any case where the building or structure to be demolished is at a distance of more than double the height of the building from any property line of the lot on which it is situated, the Chief Building Official may waive such insurance requirement.
