414.09 DUTY TO PLACE SIGNS.
   (a)   It shall be the duty of the Chief of Police, or the officer designated in charge of traffic control, to place and maintain a stop or yield sign at each and every street intersecting a through street or that portion thereof described and designated as such in this Traffic Code.
   (b)   He or she shall, after investigation, determine what portions of the Municipality are within business districts and erect signs so indicating and setting forth the limitations of speeds therein.
   (c)   He or she shall place and maintain traffic control devices when and as required under the provisions of this Traffic Code and may place and maintain such additional traffic control devices as he or she may deem necessary to regulate, guide or warn traffic consistent with the provisions of this Traffic Code. All signs and signals designated for a particular purpose shall be uniform.
