(a) For the purpose of applying all rates of compensation, except longevity, a year of service shall be deemed to have been completed starting with the first day following the expiration date of the pay period in which the actual anniversary date of the start of employment occurs. For the purpose of applying all rates of compensation, except longevity, a month of service shall be deemed to have been completed starting with the first day following the expiration date of the pay period in which the actual monthly anniversary date of the start of employment occurs.

(b) This section shall supersede all previously adopted ordinances in direct conflict herewith.
(c) This section only applies to personnel of the City who are employees of the City or on authorized leave as of the effective date of this section or who have retired during the year 1983. (Ord. 1984-87. Passed 7-24-84.)
