127.14 COMPENSATION OF NEW APPOINTEES.
   Any applicant for the position of policeman within the City, who is appointed subsequent to June 1, 1981, and who has had prior full-time police experience in any governmental unit or political subdivision of the State, may, for pay purposes only, have his or her rate of compensation paid in accordance with a step level of the applicable collective bargaining agreement that is greater than Step 1 of the collective bargaining agreement as determined by the Mayor, provided that such appointee has served a minimum of two years as a policeman in such political subdivision or governmental unit of the State.
