127.18 PART-TIME SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER.
   The position of part-time school resource officer is hereby established to provide a physical secure presence for students, faculty, staff, and visitors to schools located in the City of Middleburg Heights within the Berea City School District.
   (a)   One such employee may be appointed by the Chief of Police to serve at his or her pleasure and shall be designated to primarily work at the Berea-Midpark Middle School for a maximum of 35 hours per week during school hours.
      (1)   Such employee shall receive hospitalization but shall not be entitled to any other fringe benefits such as paid holidays, paid vacations, paid sick leave, longevity.
      (2)   Salary Grade: 27.
      (3)   Such employee must have a current Ohio Peace Officers Training Certification and valid Ohio Driver's License.
   (b)   Additional such employees shall be appointed by the Chief of Police to serve at his or her pleasure, and shall work a flexible schedule up to 29 hours per week during school hours.
      (1)   Such employees shall not be entitled to any fringe benefits such as paid holidays, paid vacations, paid sick leave, longevity, hospitalization.
      (2)   Salary Grade: 27.
      (3)   Such employees must have a current Ohio Peace Officers Training Certification and valid Ohio Driver's License.
