412.07 MARATHONS, WALKATHONS AND OTHER RACES.
   (a)   No person, organization or group of persons shall hold a marathon, walkathon or other race in or upon any of the streets, highways, parks or public grounds of the City without first obtaining a permit therefor.
   (b)   The permit shall designate the route over which the parade is to be permitted or the area to be blocked off.
   (c)   Such permit shall be issued by the Chief of Police, provided that:
      (1)   The Police Chief determines that the event will involve no threat to the public safety;
      (2)   The person or group sponsoring the event produces evidence of liability insurance in the amount of one million dollars ($1,000,000);
      (3)   The person or group sponsoring the event agrees to reimburse the City for the cost of rerouting traffic;
      (4)   The person or group sponsoring the event agrees to indemnify and hold the City harmless for any claim for personal injury arising out of such event. (Ord. 1986-39. Passed 6-9-87.)
