The Mayor shall be the chief executive officer of the City and shall supervise the administration of all of the affairs of the City and the conduct and administration of all departments and divisions thereof, except Council and Clerk of Council.
The Mayor shall be the chief conservator of the peace within the City and shall see that all laws, ordinances and resolutions are enforced. He shall be the official and ceremonial head of the City.
The Mayor shall make all appointments provided for by law, ordinance or this Charter, and all appointees shall serve until removed or their respective successors are appointed, except as otherwise provided for by this Charter.
The Mayor shall execute, on behalf of the City, all contracts, conveyances, evidences of indebtedness and all other instruments to which the City is a party.
The Mayor shall recommend to Council such measures as he deems necessary or expedient for the welfare of the City and shall keep Council advised of the condition and future needs of the City. (Amended 11-3-70)
