The owner, whether operating by taximeter or by zone plan, shall establish his own rate of fare which may be changed at will, provided, however, that the owner shall at all times keep on file with the Mayor the schedule he proposes to charge and shall post a printed copy of the same inside each of his taxicabs where it will be plainly visible to any passenger riding therein. It shall be unlawful for the owner or his driver to charge a higher rate of fare than the one filed and posted.
Nothing herein contained shall preclude the owner or driver from making a special hourly rate with the passenger who expects to use such service for more than an hour at a time. (Ord. 1950-23. Passed 4-24-50.)
