SECTION 10.302.  SIGNS IN RESIDENTIAL DISTRICTS.
   Except as set forth in Sections 10.301 and 10.305, there shall be permitted in Residential Districts only the following non-flashing signs and/or non-illuminated signs for which no building permit shall be required:
   A.   The following signs may be located in any lot, provided there is adherence to the bulk regulations set forth in the Zoning Ordinance:
      1.   A name sign identifying the owner or occupant of a building or dwelling unit provided the surface area does not exceed six (6) square feet.
      2.   An identification sign of and upon a property for which a special use permit has been issued, provided the surface area does not exceed six (6) square feet, e.g. a sign identifying a stable.
      3.   In connection with the construction or remodeling of several buildings in a Residential District, there shall be permitted one (1) project sign, a free standing sign, not exceeding sixteen (16) feet in width nor eight (8) feet in height. However, in the event the sign is of and for a property for which a special use permit has been issued adjacent to Illinois State Route 60 (Townline Road), there shall be permitted one (1) additional project sign, a free standing sign, not exceeding four (4) feet in width nor three (3) feet in height.
   B.   Garage sale signs, provided any such sign does not exceed six (6) square feet, is located on the same lot upon which the sale is held, is displayed for no more than three (3) days and not more than three (3) times per year, and is removed no later than nine o'clock (9:00) p.m. on the last day of each such sale.
   C.   One (1) subdivision sign per planned unit development.
      1.   Each such sign shall not exceed the overall dimensions of fourteen (14) feet in width, four (4) feet in height and two (2) feet in depth. In addition, no letter in the message may exceed eighteen (18) inches in height.
      2.   Each such subdivision sign may be illuminated from within, provided the energy used for such illumination is limited to solar power.
