§ 10.01 TITLE OF CODE.
   This codification of ordinances by and for the City of Metropolis shall be designated as the Code of Metropolis and may be so cited.
§ 10.02 INTERPRETATION.
   Unless otherwise provided herein, or by law or implication required, the same rules of construction, definition and application shall govern the interpretation of this code as those governing the interpretation of state law.
§ 10.03 ACCEPTANCE.
   This code, as hereby presented in printed form, shall hereafter be received without further proof in all courts and in all administrative tribunals of this state as the ordinances of the city of general and permanent effect, except the excluded ordinances enumerated in § 10.15.

§ 10.04 INTENT.
   All general provisions, terms, phrases and expressions contained in this code of ordinances shall be liberally construed in order that the true intent and meaning of the City Council may be fully carried out.

§ 10.05 APPLICATION TO FUTURE ORDINANCES.
   All provisions of Title I compatible with future legislation, shall apply to ordinances hereafter adopted that amend or supplement this code unless otherwise specifically provided.
§ 10.06 CAPTIONS.
   Headings and captions used in this code other than the title, chapter and section numbers are employed for reference purposes only and shall not be deemed a part of the text of any section.
