The penalty for violation of any provision of this title shall be a forfeiture as hereinafter provided, together with the cost of prosecution imposed as provided in sections 345.20 to 345.53, Wisconsin statutes.
A. Uniform Offenses: Except as provided in subsection D of this section for nonmoving traffic offenses, forfeitures for violation of any provision of chapters 341 to 348, Wisconsin statutes, adopted by reference in section 6-1-1A of this title and Wisconsin administrative code sections adopted by reference in subsection 6-1-1B of this title, shall conform to forfeitures for violation of the comparable state offense, including any variations or increases for second offenses.
B. Special Local Regulations: The forfeiture for violation of sections 6-3-1, 6-5-1 and 6-5-2 of this title shall be not less than ten dollars ($10.00) nor more than two hundred dollars ($200.00) for the first offense and not less than twenty dollars ($20.00) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) for the second and thereafter offense within two (2) years.
C. Miscellaneous: The forfeiture for violation of the provisions of subsection 6-1-1B of this title shall be not less than ten dollars ($10.00) nor more than two hundred dollars ($200.00), except violation of section 343.44(1),(2)(a), Wisconsin statutes, which shall be not less than one hundred fifty dollars ($150.00) nor more than six hundred dollars ($600.00).
D. Parking: The forfeiture for violation of parking regulations in chapter 4 of this title shall be as set forth in subsection 1-4-6A of this code. (1975 Code Ch. 7 § XIII; amd. 2009 Code)
