The purpose of this chapter is to provide reasonable regulations to preserve the public health, safety and welfare of the residents of the City by permitting controlled exploration of available gas and hydrocarbon resources. These regulations are in addition to those imposed by the State. The regulations are designed to protect the character of existing and planned development within the City.
