(a) In order to regulate the erection, construction, repair, alteration and maintenance of residential dwellings, the Residential Code of Ohio for One, Two and Three- Family Dwellings as adopted by the Ohio Board of Building Standards pursuant to Ohio R.C. 3781.10, shall apply and be enforced within the City of Medina.

(b) The requirements of the Ohio Building Code, January 1, 2002 issue as defined in Ohio R.C. Chapters 119, 3781 to 3791, inclusive, for all occupancies named in the Code, all building code rules and regulations of the Ohio Board of Building Standards, and all building code requirements of the Division of Industrial Compliance, Ohio Department of Commerce, shall be and represents the minimum requirements for all buildings proposed to be or actually constructed and erected in Medina, and they are hereby incorporated and made a part of this Building Code as if written into the Code in their entirety. A copy of the Code shall be on file in the office of the Chief Building Official.
