An environmentally sensitive area with characteristics such as steep slopes, wetlands, flood plains, high water tables, forest areas, endangered species habitat, dunes, or areas of significant biological productivity or uniqueness that have been designated for protection from any activity that would significantly alter their ecological integrity, balance or character.
