(a) Driveways will be plowed after City roadways have been cleared for motorists and determined to be safe for passage. There are no guaranteed times when snow removal services will be performed.
(b) The snow removal service, as provided for in this section, shall consist of a standard size snow plow making two passes on the resident’s driveway, thereby making the public roads accessible to the resident’s premises. Driveways will be serviced a maximum of once in a 24-hour period, only if the snow fall measures three (3) inches, and after a snowfall has ended.
(c) All residents who qualify for the snow removal service will be expected to fully cooperate with the Service Department in providing the said service, and any abuses, as determined by the Service Director or Street Department Superintendent will result in termination of said service.
(d) Both sides of the driveway shall be marked with tall indicator pegs or marker stakes every twenty-five feet.
(e) Snow plowing will be performed during the normal business workweek; with limited overtime as needed. Weekend snowplowing will be performed on weekends or holidays only during or after periods of heavy snow events measuring more than eight inches locally measured at the Service Garage as determined by the Service Director, Street Department Superintendent, or Street Department Foreman. Staffing and vehicles for the program will be determined by the Service Director.
(f) Residents with extremely urgent conditions such as medical obligations may contact the Service Director or Street Department Superintendent for exceptional emergency arrangements.
(g) The Mayor and Service Director are authorized to promulgate rules and regulations establishing practices and procedures for an in furtherance of this program.
