505.02 IMPOUNDING AND DISPOSITION; RECORDS.
   (a)   The dog warden shall impound any dog found running at large within the City unless the dog is wearing a Medina County dog license. If the dog wears identification sufficient to establish ownership of the animal, the warden shall notify or cause to be notified the owner or keeper of the impounding of such dog. The warden shall keep any dog impounded for a period of at least five days and if the owner or keeper reclaims the dog within five days after receipt of the aforesaid notice, he may reclaim the dog by payment at the Police Department of the sum of three dollars ($3.00) for apprehension plus one dollar ($1.00) per day for board.
   (b)   If the warden discovers a dog running at large within the City while such dog is wearing a Medina County dog license, the warden shall not impound such dog but shall notify or cause to be notified the owner or keeper of the animal of the fact that his dog was found to be running at large. The warden shall maintain a record of the owners of dogs found running at large while such dog is wearing a Medina County dog license and when found running at large on a second occasion, the warden shall cause a warrant for the arrest of the owner or keeper.
   (c)   Any dog not redeemed within five days of the time it is seized or impounded may be sold or otherwise disposed of as provided by Ohio R.C. 955.16.
