9-12-1: EXISTING BUILDING CODE ADOPTED:
A certain document, three (3) copies of which are on file in the office of the city clerk of the city of McLoud, being marked and designated as the 2012 international existing building code, including all amendments or modifications thereof is hereby adopted as the code of the city of McLoud in the state of Oklahoma; for regulating the design, construction, quality of materials, erection, installation, alteration, repair, location, relocation, replacement, addition to, use or maintenance of one- and two-family dwellings and townhouses not more than three (3) stories in height in the city of McLoud, and founded on principles intended to encourage the use and reuse of existing buildings that adequately protect public health, safety and welfare; provisions that do not unnecessarily increase construction costs; provisions that do not restrict the use of new materials, products or methods of construction; and provisions that do not give preferential treatment to particular types or classes of materials, products or methods of construction, and providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefor; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, conditions and terms of such international existing building code, 2012 edition, published by the International Code Council on file in the office of the city of McLoud are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof as if fully set out in this chapter.
