EDITOR'S NOTE: The Lyndhurst Municipal Court is established by Ohio R.C. 1901.01. Ohio R.C. 1901.02 provides that the Court has territorial jurisdiction within the corporate limits of the Municipalities of Highland Heights, Mayfield Heights, Gates Mills, Mayfield and Richmond Heights in Cuyahoga County. The powers, duties and proceedings of the Court are established by Ohio R.C. Chapter 1901. Ohio R.C. 1901.25 provides that the Municipal Court may provide by rule how jurors shall be chosen. Jurors' fees in any criminal case involving the violation of a City ordinance shall be paid out of the City Treasury. The Municipal Court, pursuant to Ohio R.C. 1901.26(A), may establish a schedule of fees and costs to be taxed in any action or proceeding, whether civil or criminal. Rule 13 of the Ohio Traffic Rules provides that all courts, other than juvenile courts, must establish a Traffic Violations Bureau and specifies certain restrictions as to the designated offenses and schedule of fines to be accepted as waiver payment in lieu of court appearance.
