There is hereby created in the unclassified (volunteer) service of the City the position of Fire Captain. The Fire Captain shall be well qualified to, and, under the direction of his superior officers, shall direct fire fighting and training activities, perform the duties of the Assistant Fire Chief in the event of his absence or disability, and assume such other responsibilities and perform such other duties as shall be from time to time designated or assigned by his superior officers.
