§ 909.04 VALVES AND VALVE BOXES AND CHAMBERS.
   (a)   Work included.
      (1)   The contractor shall furnish all material for and shall properly set in place all valves of the sizes and types specified or shown or ordered to be installed which are necessary for the proper completion of the work.
      (2)   The contractor shall make all necessary excavation and shall furnish a valve box or chamber at each valve, all as shown on the plans, specified or ordered by the Public Utilities Director.
   (b)   Valves.
      (1)   Valves shall conform to city standards and shall conform to the latest AWWA specifications, for valves of their type.
      (2)   All valves except auxiliary valves attached to fire hydrants shall be bell and spigot type or mechanical joint type conforming to the type of pipe used.
      (3)   All valves shall be tested and any joint or valve found to leak shall be made watertight and if damaged or faulty shall be repaired at the expense of the contractor.
