§ 709.05 RECORD OF PURCHASES.
   Every precious metal and gem dealer licensed under this chapter shall keep a daily register and the forms as are approved by the Chief of Police recording every article purchased by the dealer that is made of or contains precious metal or gems and the persons from whom the article was acquired. At the time each article is purchased, and before the transaction is completed, all of the information required in the daily register shall be legibly written in the English language and include the name, date of birth, sex, race, place of residence, driver’s license number or other personal identification and general physical description, of the person selling the article. The precious metal and gem dealer is also to record in the daily register a general description and all identifying letters or marks inscribed on any of the articles purchased. The daily register shall, at all times be open to inspection by the Chief of Police, a police officer, or any other authorized agent of the Chief of Police. Upon demand of any of them, the licensee shall produce and show an article listed and described in the register which is in his or her possession.
