§ 511.12 FIXED SOURCE NOISE LEVELS.
   (a)   Except as provided in division (b) hereof, in Zoning Districts R-2, R-2, R-3, R-6, R-7 on and after a date six months after effective date of this chapter, in Zoning Districts B-1, B-2, B-3, B-4, HT-1, O-1 on and after a date 12 months after the effective date of this chapter and in Zoning District I-1 and I-2 on or after a date of 18 months after the effective date of this chapter, no person shall operate any fixed machinery or equipment, or similar mechanical device or perform any process in any manner so as to create any noise which would cause the noise level measured at the property line of the noise source to exceed the applicable fixed noise level in this section. Noise limits shall not exceed the following (except as specified elsewhere) unless the person has filed an application for variance in accordance with the provisions of this chapter.

   (b)   The provisions of division (a) hereof shall not be applicable to any emergency signaling devices required by law; nor to any standby equipment operated only in emergency situations, provided that such standby equipment shall not emit noise at a level in excess of 75 dbA when measured at the property line of the property whereon it is located.
