1-2-106  DUTIES.
   The Superintendent of Public Works shall be a full time position and shall report to the Mayor or the Chairman of the Public Works Committee as directed.  The Superintendent of Public Works shall have the following responsibilities:
   (A)   Shall organize, direct, and coordinate the activities of the Streets and Alleys, Sanitation and Parks to ensure work is carried out in an organized and efficient manner.
   (B)   Oversees the procurement, management, and maintenance of the Village’s fleet of equipment, construction, maintenance, and operation of Village-owned facilities.
   (C)   Responsible for planning long-term programs, for resolving administrative problems, and for managing the departmental budget.
   (D)   Confers with and advises the Mayor and Chairman of the Public Services Committee on problems and improvements relating to the activities of his department.
   (E)   Develops general policies, in consultation with the Public Services Committee, for maximum utilization of available financial resources through appropriate allocations of manpower and equipment services.
   (F)   Meets with vendors, contractors, consultants, and others regarding departmental activities.
   (G)   Attend regularly scheduled Village Board meetings and other meetings as directed.
   (H)   Disseminates information such as water or sewer breaks, roadway closures, or other information to the Mayor, Village Board, Village departments, general public, press, and emergency and service providers in a timely manner.
   (I)   Maintains a constant working relationship with regulatory units of government.
   (J)   Prepares the annual department revenue and expenses budget after consultation with the Finance Committee.
   (K)   Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless service.
   (L)   Such other duties as directed by the Board of Trustees.
