§ 56.73 OBJECTIVE DESIGN AND CONCEALMENT OF WIRELESS SUPPORT STRUCTURE STANDARDS.
   (A)   Installation type preferences.
      (1)   Colocation of wireless facilities on existing wireless facilities is strongly encouraged.
      (2)   Other preferences include:
         (a)   Small cell facilities mounted to existing support structures or buildings that are camouflaged and screened, following design guidelines §§ 56.40 through 56.47.
         (b)   Underground design is a preferred option.
      (3)   Least preferred types include:
         (a)   New and replacement structure installations are strongly discouraged.
         (b)   Building or existing pole mounted designs that are not screened or camouflaged.
         (c)   Temporary "cell on wheels" facilities.
   (B)   Objective concealment standards.
      (1)   All wireless communication facilities, regardless of installation type, are required to utilize shrouding and camouflaging.
      (2)   All efforts shall be made to match, in as precise a way as possible, the aesthetics, colors, materials, architectural styles and features introduced into any Historic District, landmark or site.
   (C)   Height. New wireless support structures and antennas should be no taller than functionally necessary. They must coordinate with the height of existing poles in the same right-of-way to the maximum extent practicable. In no case shall the overall height exceed 35 feet.
   (D)   Ground mounted small cell equipment. Landscape screening of ground mounted equipment cabinets shall be as required.
