(a) The Building Commissioner shall have concurrent jurisdiction with the Chief of Fire to inspect the installation of any smoke detector required pursuant to Section 1662.02. If, upon inspection, a violation of Section 1662.02 is found, the inspector shall issue a written notice of such violation to the owner requiring the owner to conform to Section 1662.02 within thirty calendar days of receipt of such notice.
(b) No owner shall refuse to allow inspection at reasonable times of one and two-family dwellings and multifamily dwellings by a duly authorized City inspector.
(c) After investigating a fire in a R-1, R-2, R-3 and R-4 dwelling that does not contain a smoke detector, the City's investigating authority shall issue to the owner a smoke detection installation order, said smoke detection system shall comply with N.F.P.A. 72 and Ohio Fire Codes . Failure to comply with such an order within fifteen calendar days of reoccupancy of the premises constitutes a violation of this chapter.
