1123.02 SANITARY SEWERS.
   All sanitary sewers which are to be connected into the City sewer system or are within the corporation limits of the City shall be inspected by the City Engineer before street pavement construction begins. All other sanitary sewers shall be inspected by the County Sanitary Engineer before street pavement construction begins. Where the new sanitary sewers lie within the area between curbs of a proposed street or within three feet of such curbs, the trench shall be backfilled and tamped using granular material meeting the specifications of Item 310.02.
   (a)    House Connections. All house connections shall be at least six inches in diameter at a minimum slope of one-eighth inch per foot.
      (1)    Within fifty feet of a source of private water supply or 100 feet of a semi-public well such operations shall at the option of the developer be:
         A.    Cast iron pipe;
         B.    Asbestos cement pressure pipe; or
         C.    Comparable and equal new products.
      (2)    Beyond fifty feet from a source of private water supply such connections shall at the option of the developer be:
         A.    Cast iron pipe;
         B.    Vitrified sewer pipe (A.S.T.M. Specification C-700) with rubber or plastic mechanical compression joints (A.S.T.M. Specification C-425).
   (b)    Sewer Laterals. All sewer laterals located between house connections and sewer trunks shall conform to the following minimums:
      (1)    Size shall be at least eight inches in diameter.
      (2)    Gradient shall be 0.40% minimum.
      (3)    Construction shall be of vitrified sewer pipe (A.S.T.M. Specification C-700) with rubber or plastic mechanical compression joints (A.S.T.M. Specification C-425). (Ord. 73-499. Passed 12-18-73.)
      (4)    Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) sanitary sewer pipe (ASTM D-3034) with integral wall bell and spigot-type joint (ASTM D-3212) push-on type and ASTM F-479 gasket for fourteen-foot maximum depth.
      (5)    Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) composite sanitary sewer pipe (ASTM D-2680) with bell and spigot-type joint (ASTM D-3212) push-on type and ASTM F-479 gasket. (Ord. 90-054. Passed 4-3-90.)
