703.06 NONCOMPLIANCE/SUSPENSION/REVOCATION/NON-RENEWAL OF LICENSE.
   (a)   If the Service-Safety Director determines that the emergency medical service licensee does not continue to meet each standard specified and any rules adopted thereafter, the Service-Safety Director shall give written notice to the licensee of any deficiencies and shall require correction of those deficiencies within thirty days of such notification. Should the Service- Safety Director determine that such deficiencies may affect the health and safety of person or their property, the period to correct deficiencies may be appropriately shortened. If the Service-Safety Director determines that the deficiencies remain uncorrected after the notification/correction period, the Service-Safety Director may suspend, revoke or non-renew the license. The licensee under suspension may request authority to continue to operate the emergency medical service until its administrative appeals have been exhausted. Such request must be filed within five days of service of the suspension notice. During any such license suspension, the Service-Safety Director may undertake any reasonable activity to ensure the availability of EMS services in the City.
   (b)   Any suspension, revocation or non-renewal of a license under this section may be appealed to the Service-Safety Director. Notice of such appeal shall be in writing and shall be filed with the Director within five days after the order of suspension, revocation or non-renewal. The Director shall within five days thereafter proceed with the hearing of such appeal and shall approve, modify, or annul such order. All parties interested shall be afforded the opportunity to be heard and may be represented by counsel.
   (c)   Upon suspension, authority to continue operations not having been granted, revocation or non-renewal of a license, operations shall cease and no person shall permit any continuing operation with such licensee's equipment.
   (d)   Renewal of any license hereunder, upon expiration for any reason or after revocation, shall require conformance with all requirements of original licensing for the license involved. (Ord. 12-103. Passed 6-5-12.)
