The citizens of Manhattan adopted the town charter pursuant to a duly qualified election on November 8, 2005. The town charter became effective on January 1, 2006. The town charter is hereby adopted by the town and any provisions of this code that are inconsistent with the provisions of the charter are hereby repealed. The charter may only be amended as prescribed by law. (Ord. 08-003, 4-8-2008)
If any provision of the charter is held invalid, the other provisions of the charter shall not be affected thereby. If the application of the charter, or any part of its provisions, to any person or circumstance is held invalid, the application of the charter and its provisions to other persons or circumstance shall not be affected thereby.
