(A) The Common Council, by ordinance, shall make annual appropriations of fixed sums to the Board of Public Works and Safety for the use and benefit of each fire company pursuant to the terms and conditions of their contracts with the city. Payments shall be made to fire companies in quarterly installments.
(B) Appropriations shall also be made for individual firefighters of each company for clothing, fuel allowances and insurance as provided for by state statute, IC 36-8-12-4.
