No person, having been summoned or notified to appear to answer charges in the Mayor’s Court, or having obtained his release on recognizance and promised to appear to answer charges in the Mayor’s Court, shall purposely fail to appear in the Mayor’s Court at the date, time, and location of which he has been notified. Whoever violates this section shall be guilty of failure to appear in Mayor’s Court, a minor misdemeanor.
