921.27 STOP AND WASTE VALVES.
A wheel handle stop and waste valve shall be placed just inside of the building wall between the curb stop and the meter in all five-eighths (5/8) inch and three-fourths (3/4) inch installations. Where meter boxes are used, the stop and waste valve must be placed in the meter box. A floor drain should be provided in all cases where services one inch and larger are installed so that the pipe lines can be drained when the water is shut off. Wherever meters have been ordered to be placed, the plumbing shall be so arranged that no water from the waterworks shall be taken or supplied to the building and fixtures for which the meter was intended, except that which will pass through and be registered by such meter.
