905.16 TRENCH SAFETY STANDARD.
   Any trench over five feet in depth must either be shored or dug at an angle sufficient to prevent a slide or cave-in. The Superintendent of Public Works or the senior employee on the job shall be responsible for deciding if shoring is necessary or if an angle trench is to be used. All personnel at the site shall watch for possible danger signs, such as unstable sides.
