(a) The Building Inspector shall examine all residential buildings in the course of erection, alteration, repair or removal throughout the City and shall be charged with the enforcement of this Residential Building Code and other laws relating to the enforcement of this Residential Building Code and all other laws relating to the erection, construction, alteration, repair, removal and safety of such buildings.
The Inspector shall pass upon all questions relating to compliance with this Code, examine and approve all plans and specifications therefor before a permit is issued and shall sign and issue all permits, certificates and notices required to be issued.
(b) The assistant inspectors and deputies shall assist the Building Inspector in the performance of the above described duties, in such manner and to such extent as the Building Inspector requires.
