The following provisions shall govern the maintenance of grease traps/interceptors in every commercial food preparation location or operation in the Village of Loudonville:
(a) All grease, oil and sand interceptors required by Section 1020.06(d) herein shall be maintained by the owners, at their expense, in continuously efficient operation at all times. The owner shall cause interceptors to be inspected monthly, and shall cause the interceptors to be cleaned when the inspection shows it is necessary.
(b) The owner shall maintain an up to date log on the premises showing the dates inspected, by whom inspected, results of the inspection, dates when cleaned, by whom cleaned, and the location of disposal of the accumulated materials from within the interceptor. All materials removed shall be disposed of in a manner that will not permit them to enter the sewage system or water pollution control plant.
(c) The owner of every commercial food preparation location or operation shall submit a copy of the maintenance and inspection log to the Loudonville Village Codes Enforcement Officer on or prior to January 31, of each year for the previous calendar year.
(d) The Village of Loudonville Codes Enforcement Officer shall randomly inspect each interceptor no less than once per calendar year pursuant to his/her duties under Section 1020.04
herein.
(e) Every commercial food preparation location or operation shall allow the Loudonville Village Codes Enforcement Officer to inspect the log and/or inspect the interceptor at any reasonable time. If it is found that the interceptor needs to be cleaned, the Loudonville Village Codes Enforcement Officer shall so order in writing and shall notify the Water/Waste Water Superintendent of any impending violation. If the interceptor is not cleaned in an approved manner within seven (7) calendar days, the Village may shut the water off to the building, whereas normal water shut off fees will apply, or proceed according to law to prosecute the owner.
