As used in this chapter, "solicitor " and "peddler" mean any person who sells or offers for sale within the Municipality, any goods or chattels of any kind or description by going from house to house or from place to place through the streets of the Municipality, taking such goods or chattels with him, or who sells by subscription, or by taking orders for future delivery. However, this definition shall not apply to any minor under the age of eighteen years. (Ord. 785. Passed 2-6- 61.)
The practice of going in or upon private property in the Municipality by solicitors, peddlers, hawkers, itinerant merchants or transient vendors of merchandise, not having been invited to do so by the owners or occupants of such private residences, for the purpose of soliciting orders for the sale of goods, wares, merchandise or services, and/or disposing of and/or peddling or hawking the same, is hereby declared to be a nuisance and is prohibited.
