870.01 FIRE SAFETY RULES AND REGULATIONS.
   (a)   All cooking operations that produce grease-laden vapors (using cooking grease in a depth of more than one-quarter inch) shall have on the premises at least one fire extinguisher of either the Type K class or carrying a minimum of a 40-B:C rating. All other cooking operations and food concession stands/trailers shall have on the premises at least one fire extinguisher of either the Type K class or carrying a minimum of a 2A or 10-B:C rating (two and one-half pounds).
   (b)   All non-food concession stands, booths, trailers, tents, canopies and air-supported structures shall have on the premises at least one fire extinguisher carrying a minimum of a 2A or 10-B:C rating (two and one-half pounds).
   (c)   Each fuel-powered amusement ride shall have at least one fire extinguisher carrying a minimum of a 40-B:C rating. Travel distance to the fire extinguisher shall not exceed thirty feet.
   (d)   Each electrically powered amusement ride shall have at least one fire extinguisher carrying a minimum of a 2A or 10-B:C rating (two and one-half pounds). Travel distance to the fire extinguisher shall not exceed thirty feet.
   (e)   All fire extinguishers should be inspected and tagged annually by a certified licensed fire equipment company.
   (f)   Propane, charcoal or other cooking device(s) shall not be permitted inside or come in contact with any part of a tent, canopy or air-supported structure. However, these cooking devices may be allowed directly outside of a tent, canopy or air-supported structure.
   (g)   All other unapproved open flame(s) are prohibited inside or within twenty feet of a tent, canopy or air-supported structure.
   (h)   Smoking is prohibited in all areas designated with a “No Smoking” sign and in all tents, canopies and air-supported structures.
   (i)   All tents, canopies and air-supported structures must have a current fire-rating label.
   (j)   Use of combustible material (i.e. straw, sawdust, mulch, etc.) is prohibited inside of structures including tents, canopies and air-supported structures that are not strictly intended for use by livestock or other animals.
   (k)   No tent, canopy or air-supported structure shall be erected within ten feet of a permanent structure.
   (l)   A minimum of twenty feet shall be maintained in all streets, midways and alleys for fire lanes. A plot plan of the event layout shall be presented to the Fire Department for approval before the event. All fire lanes must be posted with signs during the event. Any vehicle blocking a fire lane at any time will be towed at the owner's expense.
   (m)   Fire hydrants shall have ten feet clearance in all directions.
   (n)   All merchants must maintain "Good Housekeeping" practices by removing waste materials from their space.
   (o)   Vehicles that are not connected with rides, concessions or on display shall be removed from the area before the opening of the event.
   (p)   Only City Fire Department, Water Department and/or Street Department personnel are authorized to hook to and operate city-owned fire hydrants.
