§ 244.06 WORK PERIOD AND OVERTIME.
   (a)   The work period for the full-time sworn employees of the Police Department shall begin Thursday morning at 6:00 a.m. and end seven days later. Overtime compensation shall be paid to all patrol officers, lieutenants and hourly civilian employees for services rendered in the line of duty in excess of the hours required for the schedule in § 244.05 at one and one-half times the regular hourly rate, which hourly rate is established by dividing the employee’s base annual salary by 2,080.
   (b)   In calculating hours, only those hours actually worked as well as any vacation hours taken in any given week shall be counted. Sick days and personal days do not count toward the 40 hours in one week necessary to qualify for overtime. Any work performed on a regularly scheduled day off or a regularly scheduled vacation day shall be paid overtime at time and one-half.
   (c)   No overtime shall be allowed unless approved by the Chief of Police and/or the Mayor.
   (d)   The base salary of the Chief of Police of the village shall be fixed at a per annum rate by Village Council. While the Chief of Police shall be entitled to those holidays granted to other village employees, the position is a salaried position and no additional holiday pay or overtime shall be provided. The Chief of Police shall be eligible for the leave trade-off as provided for in § 244.12.
