All grease, oil and sand traps required by this code shall be regularly cleaned and maintained by and at the expense of the owners of the property served. Such grease, oil and sand traps shall be cleaned whenever they are full to more than three- fourths (3/4) of their capacity. Additionally, special cleaning may be ordered by the public works director in the event that inadequate maintenance of grease traps is causing problems to the village sanitary sewer system. Failure to maintain a grease, oil, or sand trap in accordance with this code shall be considered a nuisance and a violation of this code subject to the special repair provisions of section 7-6-13 of this chapter and subject to the violations and penalties set forth in section 7-6-15 of this chapter.
