As used in this chapter:
(a) "Commission" means the Builder's Registration Commission of the City, as established in Section 1430.04.
(b) "Registrant" means any person registered under this chapter.
(c) "Residential builder" means any person engaged in the construction of residential structures or a combination of residential and commercial structures who, for a fixed sum, price, fee, percentage, valuable consideration or other compensation, other than wages, undertakes, offers to undertake or purports to have the capacity to undertake with another for the erection, construction, replacement, repair, alteration, improvement, movement, wrecking or demolition of, or any addition to or subtraction from, a residential structure or a combination of residential and commercial structures, or any person who erects a residential structure or a combination of residential and commercial structures, except for his or her own use and occupancy on his or her own property, and who is licensed as such by the State Department of Licensing and Regulation pursuant to Act 299 of the Public Acts of 1980, as amended (M.C.L.A. 339.101 et seq.).
(d) "Residential maintenance and alteration contractor" means any person who, for a fixed sum, price, fee, percentage, valuable consideration or other compensation, other than wages, undertakes with another for the repair, alteration, improvement, movement, wrecking or demolition of, or for any addition to or subtraction from, a residential structure or a combination of residential and commercial structures, or for the building of a garage, excavation and sewer installation or laying of concrete on residential property, except for his or her own use and occupancy. Whenever such contractor is required to be licensed as such by the State Department of Licensing and Regulation pursuant to Act 299 of the Public Acts of 1980, as amended, he or she shall provide such registration number in his or her application.
