486.20 ENFORCEMENT BY STATE DIVISION OF WEIGHTS AND MEASURES AND POLICE DEPARTMENT.
   (a)   All the provisions of Section 486.20 et seq. shall be enforced by the Director of, and inspectors in, the State Division of Weights and Measures, and by any officer of the Police Department of the City. Such supervisor, each of the inspectors of the Division of Weights and Measures and any officer of the Police Department may, and each of them is hereby authorized to, enforce all of the provisions of Section 486.20 et seq. Each of such officers and employees of the Division of Weights and Measures is hereby made a police officer for such purpose.
   (b)   When any such police officer, supervisor or inspector is performing his or her duties under Section 486.20 et seq., he or she shall have all the power conferred upon peace officers by the general laws of this State, and especially all such powers conferred on officers authorized to enforce the provisions of law dealing with the weights and dimensions of trucks.
