4-5-1: DEFINITIONS:
   Unless otherwise stated herein, the words and phrases used in this chapter shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them in the Illinois vehicle code 1 .
   IVC: Shall mean, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise, the Illinois vehicle code 2 , as now or hereafter amended.
   PARKWAY: That portion of a street or highway exclusive of the roadway and shoulder. (Ord. TO-2011-2, 3-8-2011)

4-5-2: PARKING REGULATED:
A.   Except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic, or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or official traffic control device, no person shall stop, stand, or park a vehicle in any of the following places:
   1.   On a sidewalk or parkway.
   2.   Within an intersection.
   3.   On a crosswalk.
   4.   At any place where the standing of a vehicle will reduce the usable width of the roadway for moving traffic to less than twelve feet (12').
   5.   At any place where official signs prohibit parking.
   6.   Within fifteen feet (15') of a fire hydrant.
   7.   In a fire lane.
B.   Except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic, or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or official traffic control device, no person shall stand or park a vehicle on the following highways or portions thereof:
   1.   Reserved.
C.   No person shall stop, stand, park, or abandon a vehicle upon any roadway, highway, parkway, or public property while displaying the vehicle for sale or selling any merchandise from the vehicle, except where authorized in writing by the Town Supervisor or the Highway Commissioner.

4-5-3: OFFICIAL TRAFFIC SIGNS:
   A.   Subject to approval of the county superintendent of highways, the highway commissioner may place, erect and maintain official traffic signs on township roads and highways as authorized by the IVC or by the Illinois highway code 1 . Such signs shall comply with the provisions of the "Illinois Manual On Uniform Traffic Control Devices".
   B.   It is unlawful for any person to remove or knowingly possess any traffic control device, sign or barrier erected on any township highway, or to deface or injure the same, except such persons as are duly authorized to do so. (Ord. TO-2011-2, 3-8-2011)
