SECTION 4.03. JUDGE OF THE POLICE COURT.
   There shall be a judge of the police court who shall be a resident and qualified voter of the City and a member of the West Virginia Bar. The Judge shall be nominated by the Mayor and appointed by, and hold office at the will of, the Council. In the event of the temporary absence or disability of the police judge, the Mayor shall appoint a person similarly qualified to serve as police judge during such absence or disability. Such appointment shall remain in effect until the next regular meeting of the Council at which time the Council shall appoint a similarly qualified person to serve during the period of such temporary absence or disability. The police court judge shall have all of the judicial powers, authorities, and duties granted to municipal courts by the laws of the State. The City Council shall fix the compensation of the police court judge.
