The Chief of Police, with the consent of the Village Manager, may appoint marine unit officers to enforce the provisions of this chapter. The compensation of the marine unit officers shall be set by the Board of Trustees. The duties of the marine unit officers shall be to enforce the provisions of this chapter and the applicable laws and regulations of the State. The marine unit officers shall have the authority to board and inspect any watercraft at any time it is being used on any waterway in the Village to determine whether such watercraft complies with the provisions of this chapter.
