5-1-3: DUTIES OF DEPARTMENT MEMBERS:
Members of the Police Department shall enforce the ordinances of the Village and laws of the State effective in the Village. They shall preserve order, prevent infractions of the law and arrest violators of the law or ordinances of the Village. (1989 Code)
