Whoever violates any provision of this chapter or fails to comply with any written notice or written order issued hereunder, is guilty of a minor misdemeanor for a first offense and for a second offense or subsequent offense shall be guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree. Each day’s violation shall constitute a separate and distinct offense. All fines imposed as a result of a violation of any provision of this chapter will be deposited into a special fund created specifically for the purchase of smoke detectors and carbon monoxide (CO) detectors by the Division of Fire which will be available to Lakewood residents meeting low-income guidelines.
