(a) Every operator of a rooming house, motel or hotel shall at all times keep and maintain therein a register, in which shall be the name and home address of each and every person renting or occupying a room or rooms therein, the make, model of automobile, if any, driven by such person, the registration number thereof and the state in which such vehicle is registered. The person renting a room or rooms therein shall sign such register, and the operator shall thereupon enter opposite such name the number or description of the room or rooms assigned to such person, the date and time. No person shall be permitted to occupy any room therein until all such entries have been made in such register.
(b) When any occupant of a room shall quit or surrender it, the operator shall enter the date and time thereof in such register opposite the name of such occupant. Such register shall be kept at all times and open to the inspection of the Building Commissioner or any police officer of the City. (Ord. 68-97. Passed 4-20-1998.)
