(a) In parking meter zones, parking meters shall be installed upon the curb or sidewalk immediately adjacent to the parking spaces provided for in Section 355.02, such installation to be placed not more than two feet from the curb nor more than four feet from the front line of the parking space as indicated.
(b) The Director of Public Safety shall be responsible for the regulation, control, maintenance and use of such parking meters. The Director shall, from time to time, establish a Municipal Parking Schedule designating the location of parking meters and the fee per unit of time to be paid by the operator of any vehicle occupying a designated parking space controlled by a parking meter. Said Schedule shall be filed with the Clerk of Council. If Council fails to reject said Schedule within sixty days, said Schedule shall become effective.
(c) Each device shall be so set as to display a signal showing legal parking upon the deposit of the appropriate fee as established in the Municipal Parking Schedule. Each device shall be arranged so that upon the expiration of the lawful time limit it will indicate, by a proper visible signal, that the lawful parking period has expired. At such time the right of such vehicle to occupy such space shall cease and the operator, owner, possessor or manager thereof shall be subject to the penalties hereinafter provided. (Ord. 37-10. Passed 7-19-2010.)
